about

My contribution to the trans rights cause. Much more synthy than I normally do.

lyrics

It shouldn't require courage to just be careless and free.
Without backwards glances to guarantee safety.
It shouldn't require laws to enable basic living.
Public affection shouldn't get antisocial sieving.
The contents of my underwear and the feelings of my heart and
The way I see myself is not for you to take apart.
If you think the way I am is against the will of god
Then ask yourself how such a powerful being could also be such a clod.

I am a vehicle - for change - in this world.
Take my hand.
Will you join me?

Self-determination, self-assertion and pride
Are the rights of all, and not things for which to chide
The identity I have is the crest upon my soul
And if I wish to make adjustments that's within my control
I may not speak for you, but there are so many who feel a need to hide themselves for fear of reprisals in the name of preserving a homogenised society which has never existed.
I can't change the whole world, but I can start with me
If you stand with me, together perhaps we can start making peace together.

I am a vehicle - for change - in this world
Take my hand.
Will you join me?

For millenia we have stepped upon the rejected
And those we see as other than the norm
We have persecuted and then reflected
upon the barbarity of what we inflicted on
We admire the wondrous tropical birds of multicoloured hue
And then mourn the world is drab grey and permeating gloom
But we are a beautiful species of every colour size and sexuality
So let's light up the world with the spectrum of humanity.

I am a vehicle - for change - in this world
Take my hand
Join me.

I can't change the world, but I can change me

LS Hamilton UK

LS Hamilton was born in the mid 1970s and is still not dead. He writes mostly indie pop, folk and punky noisy stuff, but writes more melodic stuff when he gets distracted, which is often.
A native of the central belt of Scotland, he spent many years in London with bands and as a solo musician, but now is based in the southwest of England. He likes real ale, UK comedy and things with chili in them.
